EMS Dispatch is the critical communication hub that connects emergency responders with those in need. Dispatchers are highly trained professionals responsible for:
-Receiving and Prioritizing Emergency Calls and Transfers: Call taking and communicating with those in need or staff from hospitals who need to transfer a patient to another facility.
-Coordinating Emergency Response: Dispatching the appropriate EMS units based on location, severity, and available resources.
-Monitoring and Supporting Field Units: Ensuring responders receive real-time updates and additional resources as needed
-Maintaining Accurate Documentation: Recorded vital information for patient care and legal purposes.
EMS Dispatchers are the backbone in emergency medical service, ensuring rapid and efficient response to assist our providers and the communities we serve.
EMS Personnel are healthcare professionals who provide prehospital medical care and transportation for patients in emergency situations or who need transferred from one hospital/ facility to another for more definitive care. Their primary responsibilities include:
-Rapid Assessment & Stabilization: Evaluating patients' conditions, controlling bleeding, maintaining airways, and providing administering medications.
-Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS providers are prehospital professionals who are trained to sustain life until advanced care is available or the patient is transported to a hospital. They provide basic airway management and support, control bleeding, perform CPR & defibrillation, and administer medications based on their scope of practice and local protocols.
-Advanced Life Support (ALS): A higher level of prehospital care provided by advanced EMTs, intermediates, and paramedics. They provide more advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV/IO access to administer medications utilizing local protocols, defibrillation and cardioversion, and advanced trauma care during transport to the hospital.
-Safe Patient Transport: Ensuring timely and secure transport to medical facilities while monitoring patient conditions enroute.
-Communication & Documentation: Relaying vital information to hospital staff and maintaining accurate patient care reports.
-Collaboration with Responders: Working alongside other EMS clinicians, firefighters, and law enforcement to ensure seamless emergency response.
